Bulega Completes Aragon Masterclass as Ducati Remain Unbeaten

The 2026 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship arrived at MotorLand Aragón for Round 6 of the season with one major question hanging over the paddock: could anyone stop Nicolo Bulega?

By the end of the weekend, the answer was a resounding no.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider delivered one of the most dominant performances of the season, claiming pole position before sweeping all three races to extend his remarkable winning streak and further strengthen his grip on the championship lead. Across qualifying, Race 1, the Superpole Race and Race 2, Bulega looked untouchable, combining blistering pace with flawless race management.

Saturday morning's Tissot Superpole session immediately belonged to Bulega.

The Italian became the only rider to break into the 1m46s bracket, setting a stunning 1:46.836 lap that shattered the existing lap record and secured his sixth pole position from six rounds in 2026. Behind him, Ducati locked out the front row.

When the lights went out for Saturday afternoon's Race 1, Bulega wasted little time asserting himself at the front.

Lecuona initially looked capable of challenging his teammate, but as the race progressed Bulega steadily edged clear, eventually taking victory by 1.274 seconds. Sam Lowes completed an all-Ducati podium after another strong ride for Marc VDS Racing.

While Bulega celebrated another win, the performance of rookie Alberto Surra was one of the biggest stories of the race. The young Italian continued to impress throughout the weekend and showed he belonged among WorldSBK's established stars.

Sunday's ten-lap sprint produced the closest fight of the weekend.

Lecuona stayed glued to Bulega's rear wheel for much of the race and looked poised to launch an attack, but the championship leader once again had an answer. The pair crossed the finish line separated by just over half a second, giving Aruba.it Racing Ducati another dominant one-two finish.

Sam Lowes secured third place, making it another all-Ducati podium, while Surra continued his breakthrough weekend with fourth.

If there were any doubts remaining about who owned Aragón in 2026, Race 2 erased them.

Bulega once again launched perfectly from pole position and controlled proceedings from the front. Lecuona remained his nearest challenger but could not find a way past, crossing the line 0.786 seconds behind. Sam Lowes completed the podium for the third time during the weekend.

The result completed a perfect weekend for Bulega and extended an extraordinary winning streak that is rapidly becoming one of the defining stories of the 2026 season.

There was simply no answer to Bulega's pace. Every session belonged to the Italian, who looked increasingly comfortable as the championship leader. Aragón may well be remembered as one of his finest WorldSBK weekends.

Three second-place finishes tell the story. The Spanish rider, lecuona, was consistently the closest challenger to Bulega and gave the home crowd something to cheer about. On another weekend, his pace would probably have been enough for victory.

Three podiums from three races represented another excellent weekend for the British rider. Sam Lowes has become one of the most consistent performers in the championship and remains a regular threat at the front.

As the championship heads next to Misano, the rest of the field faces a daunting challenge.

Ducati dominated virtually every session at Aragón, and Bulega's relentless consistency continues to make him the rider everyone else must beat. Lecuona's emergence as a regular podium contender gives Aruba.it Racing Ducati an incredibly strong one-two punch, while riders such as Sam Lowes, Alex Lowes, Bautista and Bassani will be desperate to halt the red tide.

For now, however, Aragón belonged to one man.

Nicolo Bulega arrived in Spain as championship leader and left having strengthened his advantage with a flawless maximum-score weekend. Three races, three victories, one pole position and another statement to the rest of the WorldSBK paddock: the road to the 2026 title currently runs through the Aruba Ducati garage.
