The World Endurance Championship (WEC) features eight races of varying lengths around
the world from 6-hour sprints to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
2025 calendar:
6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps
6 Hours of São Paulo
6 Hours of Imola
6 Hours of Fuji
8 Hours of Bahrain
6 Hours of Qatar
6 Hours of Lone Star Le Mans (Austin, USA)
24 Hours of Le Mans
Each race brings together different categories of cars:
Hypercars (LMH + LMDh): the top class
LMGT3: GT cars based on production models
Even in the shorter events, Hypercars and GT3 cars share the same track just like at Le
Mans.
What makes Le Mans unique is its 24-hour duration. Unlike the other rounds, it challenges
not only speed but also endurance, reliability, and strategy. Teams must manage driver
fatigue, night driving, and changing weather conditions over a full day and night.
The shorter 6 and 8 hour races are more like intense sprints, still demanding in terms of
strategy and teamwork, but less extreme than Le Mans.
LMP2 cars appear only at Le Mans as guest entries, adding to its special character.
