chequered flag on the 2025 Formula 1 season is set to be waved in two races time and the championship is closer than ever.

Follow a double disqualification for Constructor's Champions McLaren, Max Verstappen is now tied with Oscar Piastri and just 24 points behind leader Lando Norris.

This has fully brought the four time world champion back into the race.

The papaya team faced disqualification after the Vegas Grand Prix costing them second and fourth place because of a breach in the technical regulations, with the team having rear skids less than the permitted thickness on both cars.

With all to play for in the last two races of the season, it is setting up to be one of the closest title battles seen in recent years for the sport.

Norris with his lead remains a firm favourite to take his maiden championship, but many fans are keen to see the Dutchman take his fifth consecutive championship in a shock comeback.

Piastri seems to be the unlikely candidate to take it, despite dominating the opening half of the season, he seems to have lost his confidence as his results have drastically shifted after the summer break, with Haas rookie Oliver Bearman out scoring him in the last 3 Grand Prix's.

It seemed a clear cut Norris championship heading into the Las Vegas weekend but this disqualification reminds us how unforgiving the sport is, and mistakes beyond the driver's control can be the difference between championships at this stage.

Ahead of Qatar and Abu Dhabi Formula 1 thanks to McLaren have reminded us how tense a close championship battle can be and how costly a mistake can be.

With two races all three drivers have it all to play for, with the Australian and the Brit keen to take their maiden championships and the Dutchman determined to remain number one.
