The curtain fell on the 2025 season of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB)

at the historic Brands Hatch GP circuit on the weekend of 18-19 October, delivering drama,

skill and a definitive end to a hard-fought campaign.

Heading into Round 11 (the final weekend), the title was still between two main

protagonists: Kyle Ryde (Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha) and Bradley Ray (Raceways

Yamaha). Ryde had the upper hand in the standings and ultimately became the first rider

since 2017 to successfully defend the BSB title.

Ray was in pursuit, needing strong results over the weekend to overturn the gap. The

pressure was real. At the final flag, Ryde sealed the championship, finishing the season

with 522 points to Ray’s 502.

Early in the weekend, in Race 1, the performance set the tone. Scott Redding dominated,

beating Ray by just under two-tenths, with Ryde in third.

Sprint Race (or Race 2): In the sprint, again Redding took the win, with Ryde finishing close

behind and Ray in third. This put Ryde in a strong position going into the decisive final race.

The final race was held under tricky, wet conditions, adding to the tension.

Danny Kent (McAMS Racing Yamaha) took the win, giving his team a strong send-off in their

final BSB outing.

Bradley Ray came in second, keeping pressure on Ryde. But Ryde rode a calculated race,

finishing sixth — enough to clinch the title by 20 points.

Notably, on lap five, Kent swept past Ray to take the lead. Meanwhile, Ray lost ground and

then another position to Charlie Nesbitt, but a late crash by Nesbitt allowed Ray to regain

second.

Riders slipped and retired in the rain: Storm Stacey and Fraser Rogers, among others, fell in

the closing laps. Ryde remained composed between the white lines and kept his finish.
